Nice collection! I want some pink ones, too! Can I ask you a question about the Elgin 4400F? It lookes - except for coloring - like a clone of my Vogue Stitch 781 FA. Is the Elgin manufactured by Janone?
Love the collection- I’m still sewing on my 1977 Sears Kenmore (weighing 23#)! My favorite is the pink Belvedere one used in Batman movie (owned by Catwoman)!!! Mewow!!!!!
A beautiful collection. I am jealous of those pink machines!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle, the pink ones are what started it all.

ReplyDeleteHi Foxye,
ReplyDeleteThank you. Every sewist should own a pink sewing machine!
No the Elgin was not manufactured by Janome, it was made in Taiwan and sold/distributed by STANDARD Sewing.
I will be doing a full review on the Elgin 4400F very soon at my new blog over at www.stitchnerd.worpress.com. Check back soon & thanks for visiting!
Sonia.
Foxye, I have a Vogue Stitch 781FA also. I bought it in 1978 for $50 from the Speigel Catalog and it's still running strong in 2013! Great machine!
ReplyDeleteI have this machine as well and I'm trying to find out more about it!! It is lovely so far!!
DeleteI stumbled on this while googling the same machine [it was my great-aunt’s].
DeleteI also have the Pink Atlas Zig Zag. Any chance you have the manual? I would love to buy a copy, but can't find it anywhere.
